MEGA HYDRATION
Mega Hydration, what the heck is mega hydration. This is where we take the normal recommendation for water intake and explode it!
For over 30 years I’ve taught taking the normal water recommendation of 8, 8 ounce glasses – 64 oz/day and doubling it to 128 oz/day – that’s right a gallon a day of clean water.
No, coffee – juice – sodas (even diet) – flavored water, etc. don’t count. I am talking WATER and WATER alone. You can have other products on the program, but you must count only clean water when counting your 128 oz. The rest is all just extra.
If you are new to this concept, it probably sounds crazy to drink that much clean water! As crazy as that is, I know plenty of people who drink that much plus more soda or coffee each and every day and never complain. This is just a replacement of one for the other. The best part is the water actually helps you lose weight.
I know that additional water drinking for weight loss isn’t new to you. It’s rare today to hear of a weight loss program that doesn’t promote and encourage extra water intake during the program. However, the Fitness Pros program is one of the only ones that promotes this quantity and it’s one of the reasons Fitness Pros clients are so successful.
It is important to increase your water intake over time – not overnight! Take a full four weeks if you need to, just work to get the quantity up and your weight will come down.
The body is made up mostly of water. Most of us don’t rehydrate effectively. Water is a proven way to increase your fat loss, increase energy, improve complexion and generally feel better. Use the follow tips to help you increase your water intake and explode your results!
1. Drink 4+ quarts of clean water per day. I know there is water in food, juice, pop, coffee, etc but I’ve never seen the consumption of these products give the results provided by clean water – just water – and nothing but water.

If you just don’t like water try the next tip. Add a wedge of lemon or lime – just a wedge, don’t make it lemonade.

Use a refillable bottle with a straw. It’s amazing how much more people drink when they use a straw. I like a refillable water bottle with a straw – it works best for me. I know the popularity of bottled water is crazy, but think of all the 20 or 24 oz bottles you’d have to drink and throw away (or recycle at the least). Let’s do the math: 128 oz./day divided by a 24 oz bottle is 5.33 bottles/day x 7 days/wk 37.33 bottles wk – that’s a lot of waste. You could fill a landfill by yourself. Instead, get a refillable bottle with a straw – it works great, shaves fat, and helps reduce landfill waste.

Start slow. Look at the amount of clean water you’re drinking now and increase it by a 1/2 a quart each week. If you are presently drinking 32 oz/day. Now start drinking 48 oz/day for week 1. Starting week 2 increase to 64 oz/day. Week 3 increase to 80 oz/ day and continue this until you’ve reached 128+ oz/day. You will love the results – I guarantee it.

Drink the majority of your water before 5 PM to avoid ‘bonus’ trips to the restroom at night. I recommend you begin drinking when you wake up in the morning and get 1 quart by the time you get to work. Drink the next quart by noon, drink the next quart before work ends and then begin the last quart on your way home from work and finish throughout the night!
